Dor has participated in numerous community events, local and international festivals, and television programs. In 2009, Dor presented a show “Dor On Stage” in a Buenos Aires theater. Dor presents an ener-getic and colorful journey through different styles and music of the Jewish people.

Akevot

AKEVOT

Akevot is a dance troupe which performs dances that represent traditional Israeli folk dancing as it has evolved over the decades, exhibiting how different im-migrants to Israel brought the influence of their own dance styles to the culture. Akevot’s dances display both the traditional style of Israeli dance, but also push the boundaries of what the definition of Israeli dance is in today’s world.

Hora DC

HORA DC

HORA DC is an energetic adult dance group comprised of Israeli dance enthusiasts who dance weekly in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

HORA DC dancers come from all over the world, and although they have many different native languages they are all united by their love for Israeli folkdance.

JPDS 5th and 6th Grade Chug

The Jewish Primary Day School has been running an Israeli dance program for all grades for five years. The 5th and 6th graders were able to participate in the festi-val this year after months of preparation and years of a strong Israeli dance foundation found within the school’s education criteria. The 5th and 6th graders demonstrate the strength of the program.

KINOR DANCE COMPANY

The Kinor Dance Company is a contemporary Judaic ensemble. It has been the resident Israeli folk dance repertory company of the JCCGW since 1972. Kinor has performed all over the United States bringing to life the multicultural heritage of the Jewish people.

Yesodot

The Company performance videos are part of the Dance Collection of the New York Public Library of the Per-forming Arts at Lincoln Center.

YESODOT

Yesodot, an Israeli dance troupe comprised of high school teenagers in the Washington, D.C. area, prides itself on its ability to share Jewish culture with Jews and non-Jews through the medium of folk dance. Their costumes, music, choreographies and dialogue help audiences understand more about the land of Israel and the diverse
backgrounds of the Jewish people.
