Judith L. White

About Judith White
Judith L. White has always focused her life on her family: helping her husband through engineering and law schools, mothering their three daughters and several dogs, parenting foster infants prior to their adoption and caring for her own parents. Now, she embraces her four grandchildren. Compiling the family stories she heard when growing up was a warm and joyfull journey. Her other writing efforts are poetry.
Her passion is dancing. Since childhood, she has studied classical ballet, modern and jazz. She now enjoys modern dance, Israeli partner dancing and social dancing with her husband.
Dr. White has a Batchelor's degree in speech pathology from George Washington University, a Master's degree from the University of Maryland and a Ph.D. from Walden University, Wilmington, Delaware.
Currently she is Director of Judith L. White & Associates, a Speech and Language Rehabilitation Agency in Potomac, Maryland.
Silverstone Stories and Other Mishagos
Judith L. White

In 1995, glancing through her mother, Mirm's old papers, Judy White discovered a cablegram sent by her grandmother to inform her children of their father's death with the curious postscript, "Don't tell Miryam".
Why her mother's nine siblings had been instructed to keep the secret from her, White never knew. But the cablegram confirmed an old story White's mother had often told her - one of many.
This retrospective of ten siblings growing up in an Orthodox Jewish home in Washington, DC recalls fond memories, fun stories and family mishagos.
Embedded in these stories is information on Jewish culture and traditions with photographs and documents. This portrait of Rabbi Gedaliah Silverstone's family will evoke humor, pleasure and strength of family tales.
